Safety

At UCS we recognize that safety is a key factor in the success or failure of any job.

No job is too small or large for UCS Group to perform safely. Our labor, equipment, and other resources are organized to accomplish the highest level of safety on all projects by placing the right people in the right job.

In order to assemble labor and equipment to perform utility construction services for our customers, we believe our company's safety program must be effective in identifying specific job hazards and educating our employees to conduct their work in a way that will minimize the risk of injury.

We work safely by adhering to the UCS Safety Plan:

  • Safety Audits
  • Job Briefings
  • Group Safety Meetings
  • FMCSA-DOT Compliance
  • Records Retention & Accident/Incident Investigations
  • Enforcement of Policies
  • Communication Training

Utility Construction Services, LLC (UCS) is celebrating the safety success of our company and would like to share this information with all. To date UCS has worked with zero (0) Lost Time Injuries in over 4.5 years. Although UCS had a minor recordable (pinched finger) back in June of 2018, we have had zero (0) other Recordables in the past 4.5 years.

UCS’s commitment to safety includes putting full-time qualified safety professionals on all jobs no matter how small. Our safety manual was recently reviewed professionally and is fully updated as of April 2020 and incorporates many of the new tools such as Human Performance measures. UCS has completed multiple high-hazard projects both within and outside of the Entergy system successfully. We feel that our business model drives us and we have been highly successful in self-performing Transmission, Distribution and Substation work including foundation and matting work too.
